The Moog System 55 is a ground breaking modular synthesizer from the 1960’s. When it was released in 1964 it was sold as a complete, stand-alone musical instrument. This blog series will outline the production of a System 55 replica case in the more modern Eurorack format.
The first challenge of this build will be getting the dimensions exactly right so each module fits perfectly. This is especially difficult due to the incline on the lower chassis. Autodesk Inventor was used to generate 3D CAD models to extrapolate the box’s angles and cut lengths.
